Hi, there! I’m Tahne Malia.
Pronounced like “Taw-nee Muh-lee-uh”. Six years ago I was transplanted from Oregon, where I was born and raised for 26 years and found myself diving head first into personal training for a local gym. I grew up as a multiport athlete and have always felt a persistent passion for the human body, especially athletics, so the career shift from a four year office job felt largely overdue. After a few years of training clients and helping people improve their confidence, build physical & mental strength, and achieve their physique goals, I observed how prevalent chronic pain and dysfunctional movement was for a majority of people. Unsurprisingly, I was struggling with my own physical pains and nagging injuries from my many years of undergoing heavy training and intense workouts. After a couple of high quality deep tissue massages, I was hooked. I had never experienced such immediate relief from the constant muscle tension I was living with and I finally understood that I needed to add more recovery tools into my regimen, like regular massage, in order to feel loose and perform my best. What I was struggling with for so long turned out to be the fire that ignited my drive to treat people with the same pain.
My personal experience with pain management combined with my lifelong career in athletics as well as continuing education have all paved the way for a deep understanding and attunement of the human body and how to treat it via various massage techniques. I started on my journey to become an LMT and since then I have specialized in deep tissue and sports massage including trigger point release, myofascial release, instrument assisted techniques such as cupping and scraping, and PNF stretching. I also offer lymphatic drainage, prenatal, Swedish style, and couples massage.
For clients that prefer an integrative multi-angle approach on their healing journey, my personal practice expands beyond conventional massage into the realm of sound therapy and guided meditation. For those interested, please reach out to me personally by cell phone or email. More details will be posted soon on this site about sound therapy and how it might be just the thing you didn’t know you were missing!
